Reply CaesarMagnus July 10, 2006 - 11:20 am I think they work for Pope Benedict. Not quite as good on Pope John Paul II. (Oh, if only “Lispers in the Woggia” were still around to comment on this. LOL) Reply broed July 10, 2006 - 11:50 am Yeah, but JPII has Bono’s shades on and I’ll bet Bono saved them — out celeb-ing a celeb as only a pope can! Reply Anthony Tan July 14, 2006 - 4:47 pm This meeting of Bono and the Pope was reported in Rolling Stone a few years back. If I remember correctly, Bono was campaigning for debt cancellation of third world countries, which the Vatican had long been in support of. In the article, Bono did mention that the Holy Father tried on Bono’s famous fly shades. However, photographs were not allowed to be released. This is the first time that they’ve been seen round the world. Reply joe July 16, 2006 - 4:27 pm There is an interview with Bono which touches upon this meeting. I was pleasantly surprised at many of Bono’s answers. He may not be 100% on board (alas…but to be expected) with everything, but some of his answers are quite illuminating. AMDG, -J.
