Marc Barnes says of this women’s ordination video “Ordain a lady: that “This might be the greatest video ever to happen to the Catholic Church.” and goes on in post Why The Catholic Priesthood Is Composed of Dudes
This is certainly the funniest thing I have seen in a while and one of the best defenses for the Church’s teaching. I would have been hard-pressed to make a better parody and the words are genius. Well at least it would be a genius video if it wasn’t real.
Though one thing that really gets my ire up. I am so tired of women’s ordination proponents using Saint Thérèse of Lisieux as if she was also a proponent of women’s ordination. This is pure calumny.
“If only I were a priest! How lovingly I would bear You in my hands, my Jesus, when my voice had brought You down from Heaven. How lovingly I would give. You to souls!” “Yet while wanting to be a priest, I admire St. Francis of Assisi and envy his humility, longing to imitate him in refusing this sublime dignity.”
By the logic they use I guess Therese also wanted to get a sex change operation to be a man since she admired St. Francis’ humility. Funny also how women’s ordination proponents also usually leave out the part about envying humility. But humility does not go hand and hand when you say you are right and the Church guided by the Holy Spirit is wrong.

Nuns look terrific, but every one of these womynpreests just look like chicks in drag (which is what they are). It’s impossible to take them seriously, even before this video.
Funny you should bring this up; same topic just appeared on Quora a couple days ago, and someone’s answer contained that bit about Therese: http://www.quora.com/Catholicism/Why-are-there-no-female-Roman-Catholic-priests
Funny how they don’t read the whole text on St Theresa calling. She realizes her true calling is to love.
LOL!
Saw that video the other day on Cleansing Fire. Sad, yet funny at the same time.
The creators of this video needed to ask themselves: Who are we trying to convince? Liberal Catholics already agree with them. Conservatives won’t budge. So who’s the message for? The undecided Catholics. But why would they think the average Catholic would appreciate…
– Insulting St. Paul within the first 25 seconds of the video
– Belittling a beautified pontiff as “some pope in a hat”
– Being gleeful about excommunication
The video implies that there’s a whole generation of young women who want to be priests. No, typically the demographic is a wee bit older.
If Christ would have wanted women preist, He would have picked his mother.
You are so right.
But it does have a catchy tune and is easy to dance to so I would give it a D for damnation!
Dan Sealana:
I think you’re missing the point. The video is satirizing the “poncho ladies”, not endorsing them.
Dave, while it might come across as satire, it really is supposed to be promoting them. It was posted by the Women’s Ordination Conference.
I fear Fr. Cory is right. This could look like some kind of brilliant parody but I am afraid it is really a promo video for wymynprystsssys.
Good heavens! If that is so, I’m going to have to find the original source and comment there! Sheesh!
Drat! YouTube comments are disabled. Not surprising…

All the “Ladies” in the video are young and pretty. Where are the typical grey haired old ladies?
At first I thought it was really funny, because I read it all as sarcastic and mocking at the real women-for-ordination. Now it’s just embarrassing.
