I find the reports on that letter by 48 Democrats bemoaning the possible denial of Communion to them laughable.
After all Democrats had no problem denying pro-life Democrat Governor Robert P. Casey from speaking at the Democratic convention. They have allowed no pro-life speakers at their conventions. Wouldn’t speaking at the convention be a form of Democratic communion? Where in the national Democratic leadership is their a voice for pro-life Democrats? Do you think lifetime Democrat Zell Miller who is now pro-life will be allowed to speak? To them abortion is a sacrament and they have no problem using sanctions to deny them a place in the party.
Also sad is that out of 48 Catholic Democrats only three of them had strong pro-life records.
I thought three of them were characterized as “anti-abortion”.
Yeah…it is three of them that are categorized as anti-abortion.
Linda and Josh,
I had misread it and updated the post to reflect the truth.
Larger than the issue of Democratic denial of speaking rights to former Gov. Casey, as serious and wanton as that was, is the Democratic support for the denial of life to millions of infants.
It is this denial of life itself to the most vulnerable among us that defines the Democratic Party.
