Jimmy Akin now has a true blog. Previously he had a blogspot used as research for an upcoming book and it was hardly posted to at all.
Via Mark Brumley’s Blog I Found out about Defensor Fidei
He started the blog this week with a review on “The Passion of the Christ” and had a section in it called “Ad Gibson” attacks. St. Blogs keeps growing with excellent apologists. If you are not familiar with his work with Catholic Answer I would describe him as a well read and thought provoking apologist. The example he uses sometime comes out of the world of science and they are always interesting. One time in talking about how Jesus in his glorified body was able to enter the upper room without going through a door he mentioned the novel Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions published in 1880. In this novel two-dimensional creatures believe that the world they see is all there is, as the novel advances on character learns about the third dimension and then the fourth. I picked up this novel at the library and found it fun and interesting. But this is just an illustration of his approach to apologetics. I also really like his totally un-confrontational approach when speaking to non-Catholics. So please welcome Jimmy Akin to St. Blogs.
I have much to thank Mr. Akin for in my own journey into the Catholic faith.
I also highly recommend Jimmy Akin’s books Mass Confusion and The Salvation Controversy
