Some of Molly DiFucci’s Gannon University friends will be rocking with her Wednesday at the Survivors Rock for Life concert. Other friends will steer clear.
Those who attend can expect a spectacular time plus a chance to make a statement, said DiFucci, 20, a junior political science major who is helping to plan the event.
“It’s important to go because so many people have a negative rap about this generation being ungrateful,” she said. “Showing up shows our gratitude, that we know we’re blessed, that we’ve been given a great gift.”
…We want to help people focus beyond theologies,” he said.
The event is a new approach to evangelism by someone who should know. Schlueter is director of the Catholic Diocese of Erie Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry but is producing Survivors Rock independently through a new nonprofit group, Vision ID:X. The diocese gave its OK, but Schlueter is organizing the event on his own time.
Their website is www.visionidx.com from which I found the following graphic:
Truly many of those born after Roe are survivors that were fortunate enough to have had the magical attitude of being “wanted” conferred on them. While I certainly applaud their efforts, the guitar graphic really made me laugh. It is rather nice to see a pro-life guitar instead of the normal pagan influenced designs, but this design looks to me more gaudy then gody. Pick up your cross daily and rock out, man!
