Here is an article about the atheist who set fire to the altar of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist last year. He choose this Cathedral because it was the "biggest and best" and did not want to choose a black church or a mosque in his statement against organized religion. He also choose the altar because it was the most important area. ‘In his mind, his actions were " a strike against religion … a strike against Christianity as a whole."’ The article is interesting in the psychology of somebody who as an armed arsonist thinks that organized religion is dangerous. Being a Catholic, as the old joke goes means that I am not for organized religion either. I would ask my readers to pray for him.
