\nBefore I had a chance to hit the erase button, I was treated to the Sunday Night
\nSex Show. How can Oprah play innocent on her show and tsk about how careful
\nparents need to be, while Oxygen has an amoral crone (who makes Dr. Ruth
\nWestheimer look and act like the Flying Nun!) spewing obscene sex advice in a
\nmilieu specifically meant to be outside of the moral realm. full
\npost<\/a><\/font><\/p>\n

This seems to be a more prevalent theme in our society where all you have to
\ndo is say something and as long as you are sincere that is all that matters. You
\ncan scream about ozone holes while cranking up the air conditioning, complain
\nabout the situation of the poor and contribute nothing to charity, talk against
\npoliticians and not vote. And as Christians we complain about the lack of
\nfamily-friendly movies and don’t patronize them when they come out, complain
\nabout dissent in the church while gulping down birth control pills, demanding
\nbeautiful churches and free Catholic schooling while plucking down only a buck
\non Sundays.<\/p>\n

We will always have some level of hypocrisy in our lives as
\nlong as our intellect and will don’t perfectly match our actions. The process of
\nsanctification results in us reducing that gap between will and action. First we
\nmust inform our consciences and then will the good and act on it. St. Paul
\nrecognized this when he said “I do not understand my own
\nactions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.<\/font>”
