{"id":7366,"date":"2003-11-07T21:09:41","date_gmt":"2003-11-08T02:09:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/2003\/11\/07\/poor-pagans\/"},"modified":"2003-11-07T21:09:41","modified_gmt":"2003-11-08T02:09:41","slug":"poor-pagans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2003\/11\/poor-pagans\/","title":{"rendered":"Poor Pagans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"articles\">MILTON, Fla. &#8212; Santa Rosa County&#8217;s zoning board unanimously refused to let a Wiccan church meet in a residential neighborhood, a decision applauded by about 200 opponents. <\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">One opponent held up a Bible and pointed to it in front of about a dozen Pagans who attended the board&#8217;s meeting Thursday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">Others said it wasn&#8217;t a religious issue, arguing that a residential area is inappropriate for a church, citing traffic as a major problem.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">The Rev. William E. Livingston, chancellor of the Fire Dance Church of Wicca, said he will appeal the decision. <\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">&#8220;They stepped all over my civil liberties tonight, and my church&#8217;s civil liberties,&#8221; Livingston said after the vote. &#8220;This will not be over until we win. We&#8217;ll never let it go.&#8221; <br \/>[<a href=\"http:\/\/www.news4jax.com\/news\/2620993\/detail.html\">Full Story<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p class=\"post\">Well at least these are socially conscious pagans since they have a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firedancechurchofwicca.com\/Pages\/pantry.htm\">Pagan Pantry<\/a> dedicated to local pagans in need and then there is also the Pensacola Pagan Pride\/Green Earth Fellowship.
