Supreme Court Justice Glen Parrett has awarded her $55,000 in general damages and $5,000 for lost income.<\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">But, he rejected her request for compensation for the cost of raising the child, saying those expenses were offset by the joy of motherhood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">Such costs are generally awarded in &quot;wrongful birth&quot; cases when the child is born with severe disabilities.
