{"id":6631,"date":"2004-08-25T22:40:45","date_gmt":"2004-08-26T03:40:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/2004\/08\/25\/the-bill-gates-of-hell-will-not-prevail\/"},"modified":"2004-08-25T22:40:45","modified_gmt":"2004-08-26T03:40:45","slug":"the-bill-gates-of-hell-will-not-prevail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2004\/08\/the-bill-gates-of-hell-will-not-prevail\/","title":{"rendered":"The Bill Gates of Hell will not prevail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"articles\"> <span class=\"articles\">Microsoft Corp. chairman Bill Gates contributed $400,000 to the campaign backing a California ballot measure that would make billions of dollars available for human embryonic stem cell research and cloning projects in the state, according to campaign records.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">Gates is the latest billionaire to contribute to a campaign that has amassed more than $12 million in support of Proposition 71, which would have the state borrow $3 billion to fund the controversial research over 10 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">Cloning projects solely for research would be funded, but cloning programs to create babies would be barred.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post\">I really wish that instead of money that Bill Gates would have donated software instead to embryonic stem-cell researches. With all the crashes, &quot;blue screens of death&quot;, and installing yet another security patch they could never get around to actually killing embryos for research.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"articles\">&#8230;Stem cells are harvested from days-old embryos, which are destroyed in the process. That&#8217;s why many conservative groups, including the Roman Catholic Church, oppose the research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">Stem cells were first discovered in 1997 and even the research&#8217;s most enthusiastic supporters concede that medicines created with stem cells are still many years away.
