Commercials calling people to live a life of service are being shown before movies at Regal Cinemas in Hamburg, they are being played on several Lexington radio stations, and they can be seen on the Diocese’s website: http://www.ichoseyou.com.

They have already received positive response from their website and the commercials started playing at the movies and on the radio this week.

The video and radio spots are pretty generic and not specifically Catholic, but the website is not to bad. I really liked the introduction by Bishop Granier.

"It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you" (John 15: 16) God has led you to our web page. I pray that the information you find here will help you in your response to His call.

This web page has been developed especially for you. Listening to God’s call is referred to as "discernment". We believe that God has called all the baptized to a unique vocation to holiness and service. Whether you are a student in high school or in college, whether you are single, dating or married, whether you are a Deacon or a Religious Sister or Brother or thinking about becoming a priest, you too are called to listen to the invitations to which Jesus Christ is calling.

My prayer is that this web page can offer you the direction you need to discern which vocation God is calling you to live out in this life. I invite you to explore this site and to interact with others who are also discerning and let the Holy Spirit lead you.

Overall their site is a positive effort with some good information. The only real caveats I have are their links to the National Catholic Reporter and Saint Anthony’s Messenger and the fact that two of their spiritual advisors are from a typical modern Benedictine community.

On a side note one link for people wanting to be an "alternative Catholic" had this on the web page.

A religious organization in Lexington wants to help young people realize their calling to service.
