{"id":4286,"date":"2006-10-12T23:18:39","date_gmt":"2006-10-13T04:18:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/2006\/10\/12\/sentenced-to-mass\/"},"modified":"2006-10-12T23:18:39","modified_gmt":"2006-10-13T04:18:39","slug":"sentenced-to-mass","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2006\/10\/sentenced-to-mass\/","title":{"rendered":"Sentenced to Mass"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"bi\">A Chilean man caught stealing from a Catholic parish church was sentenced to go to mass regularly for one whole year.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"bi\">Alexis Araneda, 18, will also have to carry out menial chores at the San Antonio de Padua parish, located in the town of Ercilla, 580 kilometers south of Santiago.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bi\">The alternative punishment was proposed by authorities, part of changes in Chilean legal rules.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bi\">Araneda was sentenced for stealing cylinders of liquefied gas which the church used for heating.
