{"id":4203,"date":"2007-02-08T13:39:15","date_gmt":"2007-02-08T18:39:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/2007\/02\/08\/cartoon-pope\/"},"modified":"2007-02-08T13:39:15","modified_gmt":"2007-02-08T18:39:15","slug":"cartoon-pope","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2007\/02\/cartoon-pope\/","title":{"rendered":"Cartoon Pope"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/B16_LG.jpg\" width=\"279\" height=\"288\" align=\"left\"><span class=\"articles\">Pope Benedict XVI may watch TV with his cell phone late this year thanks to Korean-developed technology dubbed terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">Domestic cellular phone producers, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, plan to provide 100 DMB-enabled handsets to the Vatican in time for President Roh Moo-hyun&#8217;s visit to Rome next week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">The phones will be used as a broadcasting terminal late this year when the country&#8217;s public broadcaster RAI TV launches terrestrial DMB with one video and eight audio channels.<\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">&#8220;We plan to offer terrestrial DMB phones to the Roman Catholic Church when President Roh visits there during Feb. 14 to 16,&#8221; an official at the Ministry of Information and Communication said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">&#8220;We hope terrestrial DMB will be able to gain toeholds in Italy and other European countries through this contribution by Samsung, LG and the ministry,&#8221; he said. \n<\/p>\n<p class=\"blog\">The accompanying photo with the cartoon hand creeps me out a bit though.
