{"id":3485,"date":"2007-11-28T18:35:46","date_gmt":"2007-11-28T23:35:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/2007\/11\/28\/friends-turn-100-after-lifetime-as-nuns\/"},"modified":"2007-11-28T18:35:46","modified_gmt":"2007-11-28T23:35:46","slug":"friends-turn-100-after-lifetime-as-nuns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2007\/11\/friends-turn-100-after-lifetime-as-nuns\/","title":{"rendered":"Friends turn 100 after lifetime as nuns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/nunscelebrate100.gif\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"article\">TWO nuns at an East London convent have recently celebrated<br \/>\nturning 100-years-old, but both said ? with a shrug ? that they don?t feel<br \/>\nany different to when they were 99! <\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, a tea-and-cake party was held<br \/>\nat Emmaus Convent to mark Sister Bertrand&#8217;s century  seven weeks after her<br \/>\nfriend Sister Serena also reached the milestone. &quot;It really doesn&#8217;t quite register<br \/>\nin my mind that I am really 100-years-old,&quot; said Bertrand, who has been a nun<br \/>\nfor 79 years. &quot;I am still not aware,  maybe it&#8217;s because of old age.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Serena<br \/>\noffered similar sentiments. &quot;I don&#8217;t even think about being 100-years-old,&quot;<br \/>\nshe said. &quot;I can still do many things by myself. I don&#8217;t think about being<br \/>\nold.&quot; <\/p>\n<p>The two, both originally from Germany, are now living at the convent<br \/>\nin Cambridge, which is specially for elderly nuns.
