Dr. Patrick T. O&#8217;Neill was installed as<br \/>\nthe new minister of the 175-year-old First Unitarian Church last Sunday in<br \/>\nan event that drew nearly 400 people from around the area and across the country,<br \/>\nincluding Borough President Marty Markowitz. <\/p>\n<p>The only person who didn&#8217;t make<br \/>\nthe religious installation, in fact, was O&#8217;Neill himself. He was being treated<br \/>\nfor a fractured toe by doctors at Long Island College Hospital, but he agreed<br \/>\nto take his vows by cell phone. <\/p>\n<p>&#8221;  It may be a first,&#8221; said O&#8217;Neill from his<br \/>\nhospital bed. &#8220;Unitarians are kind of famous for loving innovations anyway,<br \/>\nso now here we are, working with a technological innovation. <\/p>\n<p>&#8221;  It definitely<br \/>\ncould be a first,&#8221; he added. <br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/ny_local\/brooklyn\/2007\/11\/27\/2007-11-27_175yearold_first_unitarian_church_instal-1.html\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/article.png\" alt=\"Article\" border=\"0\" style=\"border: 0px solid ; width: 76px; height: 26px;\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Well I guess I have heard being a minister is a call. So if you lose your<br \/>\nvocation is that a dropped call. <\/p>\n<p>You also have to have a real good cell phone<br \/>\nprovider to make sure you can hear that still small voice.
