Causa nostrae laetitiae<\/a> was nice enough to give me a Mathetes Award for Excellence in Discipleship. Though I must admit that normally the only disciples I look for are someone’s funny bone.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mathetes is the Greek word for disciple, and the role of the disciple (per the Great Commission) it to make more disciples. So the rules for accepting the award are such:
\nWinners of this award must pick five other "disciples" to pass it on to, and provide links for
\n(1) the originator of the award (Dan King of management by God),
\n(2) the person (and in my case, the other person )that awarded it to you, and then
\n(3) name and sites of the five people that you believe are fulfilling the role of a disciple of Christ.<\/p>\n

Here are just five of the blogs which have been dicipling me.<\/p>\n

  1. Mark Shea<\/a>. I have learned a lot from Mark from both his books, blog, and his fine podcast over the years. I don’t always agree with Mark on political matters, but he has helped me keep a healthy skepticism on them.<\/li>\n
  2. Tom at Disputations<\/a>. Another person that helps me to maintain balance.<\/li>\n
  3. Julie at Happy Catholic<\/a>. Spirituality, common sense, and humor – hard to want more.<\/li>\n
  4. Fr. Philip, OP<\/a>. The Gospel fully preached.<\/li>\n
  5. Christopher Blosser<\/a>. Before I was reading blogs I was reading the Ratzinger Fan Club and since then Christopher has provided valuable perspective on theology and politics as they concern the Church.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
