\nBritish womans twin girls saved her life when, while still in the
\nwomb, they kicked free a tumor growing in their mothers uterus, the
\nDaily Mail reports.<\/p>\n
Though advised she needed to abort the twins so she could be treated
\nfor cancer, the mother avoided harsh cancer treatment so her babies
\ncould be born.<\/p>\n
Michelle Stepney, 35, was expecting twins when she went to a hospital
\nwith a suspected miscarriage. The doctors realized that she
\nhad cervical cancer, saying that the kicking of the twins had dislodged
\na tumor.<\/p>\n
Had the tumor not been dislodged, the cancer may not have been
\ndiscovered in time for successful treatment.<\/p>\n
After the discovery of the cancer, Stepneys doctors told her that she
\nwould need to undergo chemotherapy and a hysterectomy. To do
\nthis, she would need to abort the twins.<\/p>\n
Stepney refused. “I couldn’t believe it when the doctors told me that
\nthe babies had dislodged the tumor,” she said, according to the Daily
\nMail.<\/p>\n
“I’d felt them kicking, but I didn’t realize just how important their
\nkicking would turn out to be.”<\/p>\n
