I have noticed this also, as even denominational churches going with something more generic and dropping the denominational name.<\/p>\n<p>Some actual names he lists:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cornerstone<\/li>\n<li>Fresh Spring<\/li>\n<li>Living Water Fellowship<\/li>\n<li>The Heritage<\/li>\n<li>The Vineyard<\/li>\n<li>Carpenter\u2019s Church<\/li>\n<li>New Spring<\/li>\n<li>Flame Fellowship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He also list some with \u201cmysteriously cool hip hop names\u201d he has seen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Elevate<\/li>\n<li>Velocity<\/li>\n<li>The Edge<\/li>\n<li>Spark<\/li>\n<li>Matrix<\/li>\n<li>Volt<\/li>\n<li>WaveWalkers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Father then uses this trend to re-brand some possible Catholic parishes names.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>St Peter\u2019s \u2013 The Rock<\/li>\n<li>Our Lady of the Rosary \u2013 Beads.com<\/li>\n<li>St John\u2019s \u2013 BeLoved<\/li>\n<li>Prince of Peace \u2013 PeaceMan<\/li>\n<li>St Therese of Lisieux \u2013 ARose<\/li>\n<li>St Mary\u2019s \u2013 Virge<\/li>\n<li>St Anthony\u2019s \u2013 ATone<\/li>\n<li>St Elizabeth Ann Seaton \u2013 The Seat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sounds like fun, so here are some of my suggestions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>St. Peter &#8211; Sixteen18 (in my area there are several Eleven22 Protestant churches)<\/li>\n<li>St. Patrick\u2019s Catholic Church &#8211; Shamrock<\/li>\n<li>St. Mark &#8211; Lost Garment Ministries<\/li>\n<li>St. Jude &#8211; Nothing is Impossible<\/li>\n<li>St. Augustine &#8211; Late Loving Fellowship<\/li>\n<li>St. Michael &#8211; Sword of Faith<\/li>\n<li>St. Anthony &#8211; Lost and Found<\/li>\n<li>St. Ignatius of Loyola &#8211; Cannonball<\/li>\n<li>St. Ambrose &#8211; Mother Tears<\/li>\n<li>Church of the Assumption &#8211; Rise Up<\/li>\n<li>St Therese of Lisieux &#8211; Little Ways<\/li>\n<li>St. Catherine of Siena &#8211; World on Fire<\/li>\n<li>St. Josaphat\u2019s &#8211; Jumps<\/li>\n<li>St. Theresa of Avila Church &#8211; Non Gloomy Saints<\/li>\n<li>St. Boniface &#8211; The Ax<\/li>\n<li>Our Lady of Lourdes &#8211; Healing Waters<\/li>\n<li>St. John Henry Newman &#8211; Kindly Lights Community<\/li>\n<li>St. Padre Pio &#8211; Holy Hands<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Maybe some Trad parishes can draw Protestants with a name such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Calvary Chapel Veil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What are your suggestions?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Father Longenecker has a post up about the trend of naming\/renaming Protestant churches.
