{"id":14667,"date":"2014-03-23T12:47:33","date_gmt":"2014-03-23T16:47:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/?p=14667"},"modified":"2014-03-23T12:47:33","modified_gmt":"2014-03-23T16:47:33","slug":"someone-tried-to-mail-cocaine-to-the-vatican","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2014\/03\/someone-tried-to-mail-cocaine-to-the-vatican\/","title":{"rendered":"Someone tried to mail cocaine to the Vatican"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>The drug haul was unremarkable, but the destination raised eyebrows.<\/p>\n<p>German weekly Bild am Sonntag reported Sunday that customs officials intercepted a cocaine shipment destined for the Vatican in January.<\/p>\n<p>Officers at Leipzig airport found 340 grams \u2014 about 12 ounces \u2014 of the drug packed into 14 condoms inside a shipment of cushions coming from South America.<\/p>\n<p>The paper says the package was simply addressed to the Vatican postal office, meaning any of the Catholic mini-state\u2019s 800 residents could have picked it up.<\/p>\n<p>Citing a German customs report, the paper adds that a sting operation arranged with Vatican police didn\u2019t lure a possible recipient.
