The idea came from Matt Warner, who did something similar in 2009, and it&#8217;s designed to do three things:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ol>\n<li>Promote great Catholic speakers, who are so important to the life of the Church.<\/li>\n<li>Introduce many new and unfamiliar names who deserved a bigger platform.<\/li>\n<li>Give bloggers a chance to connect with their favorite speakers while building traffic to their own websites.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<div>Over the last couple days we compiled a list of\u00a0<strong>250 Catholic speakers,<\/strong>\u00a0with the eventual goal of narrowing it to 100 by next Thursday (8\/23).\u00a0This morning we\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/brandonvogt.com\/scsmvoting\/\">opened up the vote<\/a>, inviting people to choose their favorite 15 speakers.\u00a0The voting will end next Thursday (8\/23), and then Catholic bloggers will choose one speaker to write about. Whether they compose a biography, an interview, or something else is totally up to them, but the goal is to connect 100 bloggers with 100 speakers and promote everyone involved.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So here&#8217;s where I need your help: I&#8217;d like you to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/brandonvogt.com\/scsmvoting\/\">SHARE &#8220;Support a Catholic Speaker Month&#8221;<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with your followers, encourage them to vote, and vote yourself! Then check back next Thursday and choose a speaker you&#8217;d like to connect with.<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I cast my vote for Fr. Benedict Groeschel though it is hard not to support  pretty much every name on the list.  I love Fr.
