{"id":8687,"date":"2002-09-15T16:47:04","date_gmt":"2002-09-15T21:47:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/2002\/09\/15\/how-is-your-quality-of-life\/"},"modified":"2002-09-15T16:47:04","modified_gmt":"2002-09-15T21:47:04","slug":"how-is-your-quality-of-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2002\/09\/how-is-your-quality-of-life\/","title":{"rendered":"How is your quality of life?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=#3333ff>HEALTH Minister Wendy Edmond said yesterday quality of<br \/>\nlife should dictate future allocation of health resources, and suggested death<br \/>\nmay be a better outcome for some patients. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=#3333ff>Ms Edmond claimed people had lost touch with the fact<br \/>\nthey were human and that all of us must one day die. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=#3333ff>She said that as health systems and technological<br \/>\nbreakthroughs made it possible for people to be kept alive longer, many in the<br \/>\ncommunity had overlooked the fact prolonged life did not necessarily mean<br \/>\nprolonged quality of life.<\/p>\n<p><font color=#000000>Hegelianism keeps rearing<br \/>\nits ugly head in society where the dignity of a human person is replaced by<br \/>\ntheir quality of life; a term that society will define as they need when they<br \/>\nwant.
