The USS Carl Vinson<br \/>\nhonors a segregationist Georgia congressman who headed the House Committee on<br \/>\nNaval Affairs and the House Armed Services Committee. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=#3333ff>&#8220;Should these ships of the line continue to bear names<br \/>\nhonoring men who helped foster the idea that segregation was acceptable and<br \/>\npositive?
