The Bush administration’s appointment of pro-life
\nphysicians to a federal health advisory panel on Christmas Eve prompted an
\noutcry both from the nation’s pro-abortion political lobby and from the
\ncountry’s largest owner of for-profit abortion facilities.<\/font><\/p>\n

…Hager serves as a professor of obstetrics and
\ngynecology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, director of the
\nresidency program in obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) at Central Baptist
\nHospital, and he practices as a board certified OB-GYN at the Women’s Care
\nCenter, all located in Lexington, Kentucky.<\/font><\/p>\n

Gloria Feldt, president of abortion facilities owner
\nPlanned Parenthood, called Hager’s choice “a frontal assault on reproductive
\nrights.”<\/font><\/p>\n

Hiring someone that actually delivered babies and didn’t suck out their
\nbrains or cut them up into little pieces is a frontal assault on reproductive
\nrights?<\/p>\n

The National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action
\nLeague (NARAL), did not issue a statement after Hager’s selection, but had
\n“warned” of the possibility of his choice in the weeks leading up to the
\nappointment.<\/font><\/p>\n

What a pro-choice group being against someone’s choice.<\/p>\n

…”I have a passion for the health and well-being of
\nwomen and their unborn\/newborn offspring,” Hager wrote. “The use of any
\nmedication that puts the life and health of either of these individuals at risk
\nimplores me to call for a thorough and exhaustive evaluation.<\/font><\/p>\n

“RU 486 is such an agent,” he concluded, “posing risks to
\nwomen and potentially to their unborn babies.”<\/font><\/p>\n

Hager is also a member of the Physicians Resource Council
\n(PRC), which NARAL criticized as a “radical right organization” because of the
\nmission statement of PRC’s parent organization, Focus on the Family: “To
\ncooperate with the Holy Spirit in disseminating the Gospel of Jesus Christ to as
\nmany people as possible, and, specifically, to accomplish that objective by
\nhelping to preserve traditional values and the institution of the
