The herpes vaccine trial for which St. Louis University
\ngets $37 million is a perfect model of experimental design. Both experimental
\nand control groups engage repeatedly in the dangerous behavior that results in a
\nserious infection.
<\/font><\/p>\n

The experimental group is treated with a vaccine known to
\nprotect against the infection. The control group is given an ineffective
\nvaccine. The study determines which group will get higher rates of the incurable
\ninfection, which not only affects the subjects but can result in brain damage or
\ndeath to their offspring.
<\/font><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the subjects are not guinea pigs or rats,
\nbut human beings. They are someone’s daughter, someone’s sister. The study
\nsolicits only those young women who are or who intend to become sexually
\npromiscuous. Chaste young women and faithful wives need not apply.
\n
<\/font><\/p>\n

In this type of experiment, it is customary to pay the
\nparticipants for their inconvenience and for agreeing to be good subjects.
\nHowever, in this case being a good subject means agreeing to repeatedly perform
\nacts that are considered seriously immoral by the Catholic university that
\nsponsors the experiment. This will surely scandalize and seem hypocritical to

I think I would go farther than just say “seem hypocritical”, condoning
\nactivities that are grave sins in and of themselves puts this university in the
\nrole of pimp by providing students for sexual medical experiments and getting
\npaid for it.<\/p>\n

I read this statement three times and I am still trying to connect the topic
\nsentence to the paragraph that followed.<\/p>\n

One of their organization is the “We & God Spirituality Center.” Besides
\nusing grammar that is so bad that even I flinched when reading the name, I guess
\nit was nice of them to include God but I noticed here he only gets second
\nbilling. Not much of a surprise that the prominent books for this (off) center
\nis by Anthony de Mello, S.J. This theologians writings have been condemned<\/a>
