He speculated that much of the commentary on the Pope&#8217;s<br \/>\nnew encyclical would amount to &#8220;The liberals better watch out!&#8221; Which I say<br \/>\nhas already been born out in some of the reactions I have seen in the last<br \/>\ncouple of days. He also mentioned the fact reporters seize on such bits of<br \/>\nrehashed doctrine as not allowing everyone to go to communion. This reminds<br \/>\nme of the Pharisees when they would totally ignore the miracle that they<br \/>\nhad just witnessed and concentrate on the fact that Jesus he performed it<br \/>\non the Sabbath.<\/p>\n<p class=\"post\">Here are some other possible headlines the modern media might<br \/>\nhave used if they had covered the life of Jesus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shepherds report sighting of UFOs, aliens give message of peace to those<br \/>\nof good will<\/li>\n<li>Jesus goes on hunger strike<\/li>\n<li>Short-sighted John the Baptist confuses Jesus with lamb<\/li>\n<li>At Cana wedding Jesus spoils water supply<\/li>\n<li>Jesus threatens Satan with regime change<\/li>\n<li>Jesus gives the budget-concious tips on how to feed five thousand<br \/>\nwith only five loaves and two fish<\/li>\n<li>Simon Peter proposes building project dedicated to Moses, Elijah, and Jesus<\/li>\n<li>Costly ointment wasted in foot washing<\/li>\n<li>Jesus underbids all contractors to rebuild the temple in only<br \/>\nthree days<\/li>\n<li>Jesus masquerades as gardener<\/li>\n<li>Tomb guards encouraged to lie in cover up, developing<\/li>\n<li>John wins foot race against Simon Peter in race to the tomb<\/li>\n<li>Shadow of Peter, miraculous or eco disaster?<\/li>\n<li>Gamaliel&#8217;s disciple falls of horse and goes blind<\/li>\n<p class=\"post\">Update: Michelle of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shellynna.blogspot.com\/\">And Then?<\/a> added these in the comment box.  These are too good to remain in the comment box.<\/p>\n<li>Jesus speaks from beyond the grave and claims persecution even after death.<\/li>\n<li>Peter suspected in deaths of a local couple.<\/li>\n<li>Peter claims that unclean meats aren&#8217;t bad for people, after all.<\/li>\n<li>The late Jesus said to claim that it&#8217;s better to give than to receive.  Local disciples suspected of using this alleged saying to plump for increased donations.<\/li>\n<li>Preacher&#8217;s sermon causes boy to fall asleep and die.
