Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio who recently said: &#8220;If you think back<br \/>\nto our founding as a country, we are a country of revolution, One could say<br \/>\nthat Osama bin Laden and these non-nation-state fighters with religious purpose<br \/>\nare very similar to those kind of atypical revolutionaries that helped to cast<br \/>\noff the British crown.&#8221; and &#8220;I think that people of faith understand that for<br \/>\nmany of the terrorists, their actions are acts of sacred piety to the point<br \/>\nof losing their lives. And I think that people of faith understand that there<br \/>\nis a heavy religious overtone to the opposition.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"post\">Even after the initial outcry Rep. Kaptur has defended her remarks<br \/>\nand has now gone farther by proposing a new addition to the national monument<br \/>\nat Mt. Rushmore. &quot;I propose in honor of the revolutionary endeavors and<br \/>\nexample of Mr. Laden that he be made an honorary founding father of the United<br \/>\nStates and to show our appreciation of his sacred piety that we add him next<br \/>\nto George Washington on the monument at Mt. Rushmore. If our founding fathers<br \/>\nhad access to passenger jets then I am sure that they would also have murdered<br \/>\nthousands of British civilians by crashing those jets into buildings.&quot;<\/p>\n<p class=\"post\">Tom Daschle one of the two Senators from South Dakota had this<br \/>\nto say about the proposed addition to the monument in his state. &quot;While<br \/>\nI think that the proposed additions might be good for the economy of my state<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t believe that the timing is prudent.&quot;<\/p>\n<p class=\"post\">Sen. Patty Murray who also previously praised Bin Laden when she<br \/>\nsaid &#8220;He\ufffds been out in these countries for decades, building schools, building<br \/>\nroads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health<br \/>\ncare facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven&#8217;t done that.&quot;<br \/>\nAnd who also requested that $30 million dollars in aid to the then Talaban led<br \/>\nAfghanistan government is also enthusiastically behind this endeavor and added<br \/>\n&quot;Anybody that goes out of the way to build roads in order to gain better<br \/>\naccess to terrorist training locations in South America deserves all the positive<br \/>\nrecognition he can get.&quot;<\/p>\n<p class=\"post\">Senator Trent Lott has also release a statement saying &quot;I<br \/>\napologize for my previous offensive remarks in wishing that Strom Thurmond had<br \/>\nbeen President instead. I had previously wrongly thought that there was media<br \/>\nhypocrisy involved in all the attention my previous statement had made compared<br \/>\nto the little media coverage of praise given by an American Senator and Congresswoman<br \/>\nto Osama Bin Laden, but I realize now my comments were much worse and can&#8217;t<br \/>\nbe compared.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rep.
