BETHESDA, Md. — Former Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend has been keeping a low profile since losing the race for the governor’s office last fall — but that may be changing.<\/p>\n
She is scheduled to give a graduation address Wednesday at the all-girls Catholic high school in Bethesda that she attended as a teenager, but her critics are planning a protest rally outside the ceremonies.<\/p>\n
They said Townsend is a poor role model for Catholic women because of her pro-choice views. But officials at the Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart said Townsend’s political stances were not part of the decision to invite her to speak. They said she will not be discussing abortion during her remarks.
