{"id":7738,"date":"2003-09-27T19:19:54","date_gmt":"2003-09-28T00:19:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/2003\/09\/27\/pimp-juice\/"},"modified":"2003-09-27T19:19:54","modified_gmt":"2003-09-28T00:19:54","slug":"pimp-juice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2003\/09\/pimp-juice\/","title":{"rendered":"Pimp Juice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"articles\">When the St. Louis rapper Nelly announced he was coming out with an energy drink, Najee Ali was ecstatic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">&#8220;It&#8217;s important to support young African-American entrepreneurs,&#8221; said Ali, national director of the activist group Project Islamic Hope. <\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">But when Ali and other activists learned that Nelly&#8217;s drink is named &#8220;Pimp Juice,&#8221; after the rapper&#8217;s song, &#8220;Our mouths just dropped.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"articles\">Now, Ali and a score of other activists are trying to chase the drink off store shelves in Chicago and St. Louis before it launches nationally in November.
