I just got back from a day of reflection put together by an apostolate called the Alliance of the Two Hearts. In 1995 the Oblate Apostles of the Two Hearts (OATH) was started in Dover, DE and since then has spread world-wide. The talk was given by Fr. John Santos who was the first priest ordained for OATH and he was accompanied by a some men and womens religious also belonging to OATH. This apostolates mission is mainly to bring sanctity to families through the basic practices of the faith. Each first Friday they have a vigil for reparation that starts out with confessing, Mass, and then a series of prayers throughout the night which ends after Mass in the morning the following day. They also go to homes and consecrate families to the hearts of Jesus and Mary.<\/p>\n

About three years ago Fr. Santos came to my home to consecrate my family to the Alliance of the Two Hearts and to also bless my home. My wife is a Filipina and the majority of those in this apostolates are Filipinos. Fr. Santos is an excellent homilist and really gets to the root of the faith and how to practice it in your daily lives. His reflection was on the passion of Christ and how through personal holiness we can cooperate with Christ and offer penances for reparations and the the conversion of others. The day ended with a Stations of the Cross: Through the eyes of Mary. Fr. Santos selected 13 women from the room and he started off by reading the first reflection and each women in turn read the other stations. It was a very good reflection and I wish I had a copy of this version of the Stations of the Cross. Many of the women had difficulties in reading these words through the eyes of Mary for each station and you could hear their voice quiver and them sob as they read them. It was powerful and I my eyes teared up a bit also.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
