{"id":7107,"date":"2004-02-07T11:26:46","date_gmt":"2004-02-07T16:26:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/2004\/02\/07\/winning-issue\/"},"modified":"2004-02-07T11:26:46","modified_gmt":"2004-02-07T16:26:46","slug":"winning-issue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2004\/02\/winning-issue\/","title":{"rendered":"Winning Issue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"articles\">Secretary of State Colin Powell blasted Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe on Friday for claiming that President Bush went AWOL from the National Guard in 1972, saying the DNC chief&#8217;s attack was &#8220;scurrilous.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"post\">What I find most interesting about this charge is the fact that they think it would have any traction.  This same charge was made four years ago in the last election cycle and it never picked up any real momentum and no new facts have surfaced since then.  So to have to go back into the Democrat attack toolbox and come out with a ploy that was ineffective four years ago I think really says something about what they think are winning issues.  Are they also going to rehash President Bush&#8217;s DWI just days before the reelection again?
