Here is an update to a story I posted before.<\/p>\n

MARION, Ind. — A biblical verse painted on Marion’s new firetruck will remain there despite concerns that it promotes religion on a taxpayer-funded vehicle, the city’s mayor says.<\/p>\n

Mayor Wayne Seybold said he chose to allow the verse to remain because the inscription does not say it comes from the Bible and makes no reference to God.<\/p>\n

The firetruck’s side contains part of the 23rd Psalm: “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.”<\/p>\n

Seybold said he received numerous calls, e-mails and letters from people who overwhelmingly support keeping the verse on the truck.<\/p>\n

“I think a majority of the people have decided that they think it should stay, and you know, it doesn’t make any religious reference, and so in that regard, I think if that’s the saying that the fire department wants, I support that whole heartily,” he said.

Now I am wondering that even if this verse had mentioned it was from the Bible or that it directly mentions God how it might have been establishing a religion. Would the fire truck driving around have emitted little church seed pods that caused churches to pop-up and grow on street corners? Would people seeing this verse have been forcibly converted to Christianity?<\/p>\n

Now for all of those secular purists out there who don’t want bible verses or the mention of God on Government materials please e-mail me. I will send you my address so that you can mail me our of your money to me.
