Poppy (Jim Reed) and Daddy (Dennis Curry) saw a need and stepped up to help eight children who share their home today. All came to them in various ways, but they all had one overriding need: a permanent home to call their own.<\/p>\n

Reed went out to buy a horse one day about five years ago. He didn’t purchase that horse, but he did come home with Angelo. The boy was the first child to come live in their home in South Central Kentucky.<\/p>\n

…The couple spends time in service to their church, Christ the Healer, in Edmonton, Ky. Reed serves as a Eucharistic Minister for that congregation. The small Catholic church is the spiritual home for less than 30 families.<\/p>\n

One of the requirements to be a Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister is that "They should be practicing Catholics, in good standing with the parish community." This is one of the problems of phony tolerance that occurs within society and the Church. That sinful behavior is overlooked because they "Love each other<\/a>." John the Baptist wasn’t afraid to mention Herod’s wrongful marriage relationship. Of course the consequence of that might not be a good example. When people in the Church look the other way over gravely sinful situations they are removing a channel of repentance. One of the spiritual acts of mercy is to rebuke the sinner when the occasion prudently warrants it .
