What it reminds me of is lab mice and cancer experiments. It always seemed to me that you could get these mice to develop cancer by basically giving them anything. If you said boo to them carcinogens would develop in them. The outcry of some Muslims over just about anything makes them just so thin-skinned that there skin thickness has to be measured with a micrometer. Just about anything will set them of. From cartoons to phony stories about the Koran and Guantanamo just about any implied insult will invoke anger and a violent reply. They have of course only reacted to a very small part of the Pope’s speech which is not surprising since this is the only part the media is magnifying.

‘Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached’."

Coming only weeks after the forced conversion of the two Fox News personnel show that not much has changed since the 14th century when Emperor Manuel Paleologos II said those words. Progress in this case was that instead of a sword they used a gun instead, though they will still fall back on tradition and use a dull sword to lop off a head or two for old times sake.

Pakistan’s parliament condemned the "derogatory" remarks today and demanded an apology. The country’s foreign ministry said they were "regrettable" and claimed they would encourage violence.

Yeah that will show the Pope that he is wrong. Stop saying we are violent or we will beat you up or kill you.

But Britain’s Ramadhan Foundation, a youth organisation based in Rochdale, reacted angrily to the comments, comparing the Pope unfavourably to his predecessor John Paul II.

In a statement it said: "If the Pope wanted to attack Islam and Prophet Muhammad teachings he could have been brave enough to say it personally without quoting a 14th century Byzantine Christian emperor.

Why would he have to be brave to say it? They have to get use to the idea that any other religion besides Islam are going to disagree with the majority of the teachings of Muhammad and especially his authority. I mean where did they get the idea that the Pope wasn’t an Muslim and that Catholics do not accept the authority of their prophet? That we see Islam as just the most enduring of heresies that was cobbled together from Christianity and other religious beliefs. British Muslims can practice their faith and complain about the Popes’ remarks specifically because of developed Christian thought in the first place on religious freedom. Saudi Arabian Christians can’t say squat since the public worship of any other religion is prohibited.

In the meantime the University of Minnesota is doing a play called the "Pope and the Witch" which has a heroin-addicted and paranoid Pope John Paul II in it. Now I don’t worry about this play since I know some Catholic will either behead the people involved or blow themselves up in the audience. So why waste time critiquing this play. I know this to be true since Rosie O’Donnell recently said “Christian Fundamentalists are just as dangerous as Islamic Fundamentalists.” If the play was about Muhammad it would certainly incite violence either here or overseas. Maybe a riot will break out at anytime in St. Peter’s Square. I am sure I saw someone outside of adoration recently with a sign that said "Behead those who insult Catholicism."

All of this phony furor by Muslims over the Pope’s remarks reminds me of something.
