{"id":4016,"date":"2006-12-07T12:36:19","date_gmt":"2006-12-07T17:36:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/2006\/12\/07\/members-of-cta-in-the-diocese-of-lincoln-still-excommunicated\/"},"modified":"2006-12-07T12:36:19","modified_gmt":"2006-12-07T17:36:19","slug":"members-of-cta-in-the-diocese-of-lincoln-still-excommunicated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2006\/12\/members-of-cta-in-the-diocese-of-lincoln-still-excommunicated\/","title":{"rendered":"Members of CTA in the Diocese of Lincoln still excommunicated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"bi\"><span class=\"bi\">Dec. 7, 2006 (CWNews.com) &#8211; The Vatican has confirmed an American bishop&#8217;s decision to excommunicate members of the dissident group Call to Action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"bi\">Call to Action is &#8220;causing damage to the Church of Christ,&#8221; wrote Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, the prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, in a letter to Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz of Lincoln, Nebraska.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bi\">In March 1996, Bishop Bruskewitz had announced the excommunication of all Catholics in his diocese who were members of Call to Action or several other dissident groups which he described as &#8220;totally incompatible with the Catholic faith.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bi\">The Nebraska chapter of Call to Action appealed the bishop&#8217;s decision to the Vatican.
