{"id":3211,"date":"2008-03-20T22:39:47","date_gmt":"2008-03-21T03:39:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/2008\/03\/20\/religious-tolerance\/"},"modified":"2008-03-20T22:39:47","modified_gmt":"2008-03-21T03:39:47","slug":"religious-tolerance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2008\/03\/religious-tolerance\/","title":{"rendered":"Religious tolerance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article\">Riyadh, 20 March (AKI) &#8211; No churches<br \/>\nshould be permitted in Saudi Arabia, unless Pope Benedict XVI<br \/>\nrecognised the prophet Mohammed, according to a Middle East expert.<\/p>\n<p>While Saudi mediators are working with the Vatican on negotiations to<br \/>\nallow places of religious worship, some experts believe it will not<br \/>\noccur without this recognition.<\/p>\n<p>Anwar Ashiqi, president of the Saudi centre for Middle East strategic<br \/>\nstudies, endorsed this view in an interview on the site of Arab<br \/>\nsatellite TV network, al-Arabiya on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I haven taken part in several meetings related to Islamic-Christian<br \/>\ndialogue and there have been negotiations on this issue,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It would be possible to launch official negotiations to construct a<br \/>\nchurch in Saudi Arabia only after the Pope and all the Christian<br \/>\nchurches recognise the prophet Mohammed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If they don&#8217;t recognise him as a prophet, how can we have a church in<br \/>\nthe Saudi kingdom?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"blog\">Well we can meet them half way since we<br \/>\nalready recognize Mohammed as a prophet, a false prophet that is.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Riyadh, 20 March (AKI) &#8211; No churches should be permitted in Saudi Arabia, unless Pope Benedict XVI recognised the prophet Mohammed, according to a Middle East expert.
