All I can say is whoever sold Mayor
\nGiuliani on the Florida strategy or whether it was his own idea – good
\njob! Anything that keeps a culture of death Republican from being the
\nnominee is for me a good strategy. I do wish though that the
\nreason he failed was that he was not personally opposed to abortion and
\nwas not any kind of social conservative. Though I think that
\nwas part of it, but most of the Republican establishment was not all
\nthat worried about breaking a pro-life precedence just as long as he
\npromised to do what they want on national security and gave assurances
\nabout his judicial picks. The only talk show I have listened to that
\nwas actually worried about Rudy splitting the party and ending the
\nRepublican party as the party of life was Laura Ingraham.<\/p>\n
As a critique of a campaign strategy and
\nit easy to say now – what a maroon! It seems to me that if
\nyou are going to run for President you need to run as president in all
\nfifty states because even if you don’t win the primaries at least you
\nwill have already set up networks and contacts when it comes to the
\ngeneral election. Skipping states and concentrating on ones
\nlater on in the primary cycle also keeps you from getting all of the
\nfree press coverage and keeps your name out of the news. I am just glad
\nin Rudy’s case that he decided to put all of his eggs in one basket.<\/p>\n
As a side issue it is also nice that we
\nwon’t have a cafeteria Catholic being a nominee this time around.
\n We won’t have the Communion wars as we did with Sen. Kerry
\nsince reportedly the Mayor does not go to Communion because of his
