My senior\/grad theology seminar here at
\nthe Univ of Dallas is called Postmetaphysical
\ntheologies. The class has a blogsite called suppl(e)mental.<\/p>\n
A major part of the students grades hangs on doing theology in
\npublic. My goal here is to
\nacquaint these budding Catholic theologians with the weirdnesses of
\nreading, writing, and writing
\nabout Christian theology for an audience outside the academy.<\/p>\n
The theologies we will be covering in the seminar are decidedly
\nnon-Catholic, sometimes downright
\n(though never explicitly) anti-Catholic, and represent some of the best
\ncontemporary theology out
\nthere. My goal here is to introduce my very, very orthodox
\ntheologians-to-be to the veritable
\ncircus of theological methods, vocabularies, personalities, and schools
\nthat push and pull the
\nfaith of the Church in both creative and destructive directions.<\/p>\n
I see myself as something of a Professor of Defense Against the Dark
