{"id":2749,"date":"2008-04-03T18:17:16","date_gmt":"2008-04-03T23:17:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost:8888\/2008\/04\/03\/top-ten-list\/"},"modified":"2008-04-03T18:17:16","modified_gmt":"2008-04-03T23:17:16","slug":"top-ten-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2008\/04\/top-ten-list\/","title":{"rendered":"Top ten list"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"blog\">American Papist posts the&nbsp; <a\nhref=\"http:\/\/www.americanpapist.com\/2008\/04\/video-la-archdiocese-welcomes-pope-by.html\"\ntarget=\"_blank\">LA Archdiocese&#8217;s&nbsp;welcome video <\/a>for<br \/>\nPope Benedict which concentrates on the blessing of the<br \/>\nanimals. &nbsp; I don&#8217;t think the video is as awful as Thomas does,<br \/>\nthought the segments of Cardinal Mahony spraying water at everthing in<br \/>\nsight that is merged into it is unintentionally funny. &nbsp;Though<br \/>\nhe does have a point that it is nowhere near as good as the other<br \/>\nsubmissions made.<\/p>\n<p class=\"blog\">Now you might wonder why they decided on<br \/>\nthe blessing of animals for their submission. &nbsp;Well I think it<br \/>\nis quite obvious. &nbsp;Here is a top ten list for the reasons why<br \/>\nthey picked this subject.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A video of the beauty of the Cathedral of our Lady of the<br \/>\nAngel. (Video would be way too short)<\/li>\n<li>Highlights from the L.A. Religious Education Congress. Well<br \/>\nmaybe that is something else they would not want the Holy Father to<br \/>\nwitness.<\/li>\n<li>Beautiful reverent liturgies using a large glass jug for<br \/>\nthe Precious Blood. &nbsp;Oops another thing that should be on the<br \/>\ndown-low.<\/li>\n<li>A tour of bursting seminaries from a diocese with more than<br \/>\nfour million Catholics. &nbsp;Oh wait you would have to set up a<br \/>\nPotemkin seminary first.<\/li>\n<li>A video of the numerous times the Cardinal has honored and<br \/>\nhosted events for pro-abortion Catholics. Darn that won&#8217;t work either.<\/li>\n<li>A tour of the Archdiocese property, minus of course all the<br \/>\nbuildings sold because of the priestly abuse. Well maybe not.<\/li>\n<li>A video of the ordination of openly gay Deacon Eric Stollz<br \/>\nwho has written publicly against the Church&#8217;s &nbsp;teaching on<br \/>\nhomosexuality. Well maybe another ordination would be more appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Or how about a video showing how fast the Archdiocese<br \/>\nresponded to the removal of the indult for EMHC&#8217;s purifying sacred<br \/>\nvessels. &nbsp;Oh wait the Cardinal wrote a memo instead that no<br \/>\nchanges would be made at the present time.<\/li>\n<li>Well maybe a video exposition of &#8220;Gather Faithfully<br \/>\nTogether: A Guide for Sunday Mass&#8221; written by the Cardinal.<br \/>\n&nbsp;Surely the Pope would want to put this as an appendix to his<br \/>\nbook &#8220;Spirit of the Liturgy.&#8221; Well then again maybe as an example of<br \/>\nhow not to explain Eucharistic theology and following the norms of the<br \/>\nChurch.<\/li>\n<li>Or maybe a video showing how cooperative the Archdiocese<br \/>\nwas in providing documents to the court in the matter of handling<br \/>\nsexual abuse. &nbsp;I guess just as long as you define<br \/>\n&#8220;cooperative&#8221; as stonewalling and doing every legal maneuver possible<br \/>\nto keep this from happening.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"blog\">Well how about a video on the blessing of animals?
