{"id":15570,"date":"2016-08-14T13:12:15","date_gmt":"2016-08-14T17:12:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/?p=15570"},"modified":"2016-08-14T13:12:15","modified_gmt":"2016-08-14T17:12:15","slug":"who-are-you-going-to-call","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/2016\/08\/who-are-you-going-to-call\/","title":{"rendered":"Who are you going to call?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apparently when you have Poltergeist activity it is not the Ghostbusters, but the Catholic Church.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Permalink to Police contact Catholic Church after baffling \u2018poltergeist\u2019 report\" href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2016\/08\/14\/police-contact-catholic-church-after-baffling-poltergeist-report\/\">Police contact Catholic Church after baffling \u2018poltergeist\u2019 report<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Police officers in Scotland have called in representatives from the Catholic Church after investigating reports of \u201cdisturbing incidents\u201d of a \u201cpoltergeist\u201d at a family home.<\/p>\n<p>A mother and her teenage son were said to be \u201cextremely distressed\u201d after experiencing what the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/scottish-news\/poltergeist-baffles-hardened-police-scotland-8620581\">Daily Record<\/a> describes as \u201cviolent and unexplained circumstances\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The family, who live in South Lanarkshire, called police on Monday and Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe officers attended expecting it to be a mental health issue but they witnessed the lights going off, clothes flying across the room and the dog [the family\u2019s pet Chihuahua] sitting on top of a hedge,\u201d a police source said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe officers called their superiors, who also attended, thinking the cops were perhaps being a bit silly. But it\u2019s being taken very seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A priest is understood to have blessed the house in Rutherglen after officers got in touch with the Catholic Church.<\/p>\n<p>The mother and son have left their home and are now staying with relatives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne problem we\u2019ve got is where we go from here, as no crime has been established, so what else can we do but deal with any reports of disturbances,\u201d the police source said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>No doubt one the Church\u2019s tests for the preternatural is a Chihuahua sitting on top of a hedge.<\/p>\n<p>Still it does remind me of other cases where the Church was brought in over something explicable.
