When I read the following story this is what I thought of.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Cope.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Cope.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Cope\" width=\"292\" height=\"455\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11901\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Cope.jpg 292w, http:\/\/www.splendoroftruth.com\/curtjester\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Cope-192x300.jpg 192w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 292px) 100vw, 292px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A nun who dedicated her life to caring for exiled leprosy patients is a step closer to sainthood after the Vatican\u2019s Congregation for the Causes of Saints recommended her canonization on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The recommendation to the pope confirmed previous rulings that a second miracle was due to Blessed Marianne Cope\u2019s intercession.<\/p>\n<p>In 1888, Cope succeeded Father Damien in caring for leprosy patients banished to the Kalaupapa settlement on Molokai. Mother Marianne died of natural causes in 1918 and was buried there.
