Let Me Be Clear, As I Have Always Said, Abortion Funding is Not in My Health Care Plan
As I Have Also Always Said, Abortion Funding is "At the Center and Heart of" My Health Care Plan

Well we can take Obama at this word or take Obama at his, hmm "other" word. Just pic which version you like better. Like those children's books we now have "Choose your own Presidency", just string together the quotes you like and no matter what side you are on you pick what you want. [reference]

Obama 20:25 - And there are also many other things which Obama lied about, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.

I find it unfortunate that once again a convert or any Christian, be it Catholic or other concentrate on abortion. There really is no argument against someone who thinks that all reverence for life has to start with the abortion issue. It is a wall put up. So, people will base their election of a president or whoever that is "anti-abortion". This has come to mean that he is only anti abortion as an active practice in the US. This I find hypocritical and shallow. It also can lead to electing someone who is only "anti abortion" but a complete heretic. Both Republicans and Dems have contributed to the grand "globalization". Walmart is famous for having truly created the model of streamlining and organizing this process. Walmart also has been a big supporter (Sam) of the Rep party. The process involves bringing templates of this and that to be manufactured mostly in China in order to compete. Of course this has worked very well. Not for american factory workers, but who cares. These Chinese factories also must follow Chinese Govt Laws. They must report if a woman is pregnant and already has one child. She is either fired or must have an abortion....or infanticide. So, in having such a large extention of our economy which is generated and manifests itself in taxes etc, this means that we support mandatory abortions. One can justify anyway one wants, but if one is so adamant about abortion there should be major moves to disconnect from this association w/China. "Oh but the economy will collapse". Yes it will. But are you serious? Are you the Rich Young Man who walked away because he did not want to give up comfort?
Then there is the issue of evil means to achieve "good ends". Argue all you want, but it is very clear in the Gospel that at the very least- going out of your way to attack an enemy is wrong. It mentions this everywhere in the Gospels. Carpet bombing, shock and awe etc. Going into a country as a peace keeping force and defending would be better, and pursuing criminals such as Bin Laden through law would be more according to Gospels. "Oh but there will be more terrorist attacks in the US". Yes Jesus did not ask an easy life. Killing innocents overseas so innocents are not killed here is so anti-Christian that the though that most American Christians are ok with this is appalling.
Having said this, do I think that pushing the Taliban out and trying to restore some semblance of Justice for all its citizens is a good act- yes, I do. It is a moral dilemma. It is also mixed with National Interest. Jesus said, being kind to your neighbor or brother- of course this is easy- but be perfect as your father and help someone that cannot repay. Africa comes to mind.
If you support the status quo then you are inherently ok with abortion if you buy anything now-since it comes mostly from China, and you are ok with killing people to achieve a "good end". Any anti-abortion talk from a politician is empty unless he overturns status quo, as Jesus did when he lived the Word.

Sorry Daniel, but your response is all over the map. No, I'm not just anti-abortion. I'm also anti-talking-out-of-both-sides-of-the-mouth, which is what Obama is doing here. The rest amounts to a rather sketchy tu quoque. As far as China, yeah, we should divest as much as possible until they get their act together, but buying things from them amounts to material cooperation so remote that the "you are inherently ok with abortion" is false.

Thus spake the politician.

This is absurd. Why don't people see the lies that this man feeds to the masses on a daily basis?

If he always lied, then those in favor of abortion wouldn't be very happy with him and they'd be out in full force holding his feet to the fire.

But those who favor abortion are happy. They got to private meetings with the President. They talk with coy winks saying "Reproductive Women's health" as though somehow not saying abortion means they don't mean abortion.

But Relax. We're from the government and we're here to help. Don't you want us to help? Shouldn't we want to help? Shouldn't you want our help? Don't you want us to help others? If you don't, aren't you a heartless excuse of a human being?

He's supported by abortionists. He's supported by those who support abortion. He's funded by NARAL. All of his key advisors are keen on abortion and euthanasia (their own writings, not the rantings of a radio host interpreting). He can say all the right things, but he didn't write any of the five pending bills.

Each of them are at least 1000 pages long and have multiple things that refer to procedures in obscure language which could be interpreted by those willing, as allowing for both abortion and euthanasia.

Who doesn't think that this administration and this Congress are more than willing to allow this to mean funding abortion or euthanasia if such procedures are not expressly denied in actual law?

Only the most hopeful niave and those who refuse to look reality in the eye.

It all comes down to trust. And a man who says both things has proven he ought to be judged by his past actions. The President's actions in the past are prologue. Ergo, when he says it won't be in the bill, I'm a reasonable skeptic if not outright incredulous.

The damage of the Obama adminstration runs deep. Lydia McGrew posted at W4 about VA bureaucrats reintroducing to veterans a book about end-of-life choices that references the Hemlock Society.

The Curt Jester

A former atheist who after spending forty years in the wilderness finds himself with both astonishment and joy a member of the Catholic Church. This blog presents my hopefully humorous and sometimes serious take on things religious, political, and whatever else crosses my mind.
