Prof. Kmiec accuses 'right wing' Catholic bloggers of character assassination

Washington DC, Jan 13, 2009 / 11:53 am (CNA).- In his first lengthy article explaining his position after the election of President Barack Obama, Professor Douglas Kmiec is accusing "right wing Catholic bloggers" of distorting his position, attacking him personally, and potentially poisoning the relationship between the Holy See and the future administration of President Barack Obama. [article]

To be honest I was going to engage in character assassination of Prof Kmiec but I found his character too small of a target to be able to assassinate.

Okay cheap shot, but then again we are talking about Doug "It's all about me" Kmiec. Recently Jay Anderson demonstrated how Prof Kmiec managed to turn a Fr. Neuhaus eulogy into a vehicle all about himself. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that the Vatican poisoning Kmiec is concerned with was his chances of becoming Vatican Ambassador since the "right wing" Catholic blogosphere frequently fisked his Obamagetics (Oboma Apologetics). Here we are just a couple days away from President Obama putting pen to paper and eliminating the Mexico City Policy and poor Doug is all up in arms about us bloggers.

Now where can I get my "Member of the Vast Right Wing Catholic Blogosphere Conspiracy" bumper sticker? Surely I deserve one after my Stephen Douglas 1860 Kmiec satirical piece.

This guy is typical of the "have my cake & eat it" crowd. He wants to suck up to Obama due to agreement with various policies such as the Iraq War, etc. yet at the same time refuses to see any problem with the man's record on abortion.

Hey Doug baby, wake up and smell the coffee. You've backed the wrong horse, "The One" has a lot going against him that can't be ignored. Putting your fingers in your ears and yelling, "Lalalala" won't make it go away.

Doug Who?

"Now where can I get my "Member of the Vast Right Wing Catholic Blogosphere Conspiracy" bumper sticker?"

I want one of those too,and yes Jeff you do deserve one!

I suspect that Mr. Kmiec would be a bit less sensitive if his conscience didn't bother him.

I guess Mr. K doesnt know his 15 mins were up a while ago.

Well now the truth comes out! Professor Kmiec sold his soul for a Vatican ambassadorship.

Anyone ever hear this guy say anything about why government takeovers of schools, hospitals and charities is in agreement with Church teaching? How laws that protect adultery and abandoning one's wife and children are ways to "protect the family"? Why do we let these people get away with pretending that Obama's social policies are even close to Church teaching?

Jeff,

If you decide to create a "Member of the Vast Right Wing Catholic Blogosphere Conspiracy" blog button, I want one.

Here's a Him for Km:

Him!
Him!
F#@! Him!

Spineless jerk!

Yeah.
Just watch now..
Obama will probably be the one that puts ''Digital Angel'' into full effect and utilization, fulfilling Revelation's warning about the Mark of the Beast.
Well, this is one boy that will steal from the enemy at every chance, rather than betray his Etenal Inheritance for a mess of pottage.

Dominic.

With apologies to Kipling.

A DEAD KMIEC
I could not dig: I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the unborn I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
The murdered and discarded unborn?

Prof. Kmiec accuses 'right wing' Catholic bloggers of character assassination

Isn't publishing an article in Commonweal pretty much an act of character suicide?

Jeff,
If you design a button, members of the
"conspiracy" can print it and insert it into a clear plastic button, sold at most craft stores for about a dollar...

Man, I can only aspire to membership in the elite Right Wing Catholic Blogosphere. Please design this button, someone? Jeff? Someone?

A Kmiec quote copied from LifeSiteNews:

"Were the Holy Father to tell me I had contradicted the magisterium on any given page of my Obama book, I would tear out that page," he wrote."

How 'bout just throwing away the book? Praying that its contents will be erased from the minds of its readers? Making reparation for the damage it has done?
I shudder to think how one could make reparation for the legalized, "justified" (by false compassion and vague talk of abortion reduction) killing of so many of God's tiniest children. The Blood of Christ, the Mercy of God, the intercession of the Mother of Mercy, these must be the only avenues left open--there is no merely human way to pay for such things.

Were the Holy Father to tell me I had contradicted the magisterium on any given page of my Obama book, I would tear out that page," he wrote.

It's funny. When the pope makes statement against contraception and several bishops dissent, these guys are all about "subsidiarity" and the rule of their own local bishop. When their own bishops criticize them, suddenly they want to hear it from the pope.

There simply is no authority they accept but their own. Non serviam. Sound familiar?

To be honest I was going to engage in character assassination of Prof Kmiec but I found his character too small of a target to be able to assassinate.

What do you do when your target commits character suicide?

Okay, maybe not the best fitting choice of words, but I couldn't resist.

Being an ex-Catholic I would like to point out that 50% of Catholic voters vote for abortionist candidates.

Yes the Greek Captcha is a joke
