Is Barack Obama the Messiah?

Christopher Blosser has come up with a great new site that chronicles people describing Obama in Messiah-like terms called Is Barack Obama the Messiah?  He uses real quotes, stories, Hollywood/rap-star sing-a-long video to Obama, and though he tweaks some of the posters via Photoshop for added effect, the posters are also real.

As I am currently rereading The Lord of the Rings I came across a quote from the book that when I read it instantly reminded me of Obama.  In a conversation about Frodo and his initial distrust of Strider he says "I think a servant of the Enemy would look fairer and feel fouler."  This described exactly my feelings about Obama.  He looks and sounds so fair and you really want to like him as you listen to his high sounding rhetoric.  He has charisma to spare, but when I look at his record in regards to Illinois' "Born Alive Infant Protection Act" and his willingness to support infanticide to protect abortion "rights" and having the most liberal record in his short time in the Senate I see Obama as feeling fouler.  No I don't think we need to shave his head and look for 666, but his agenda surely makes him a servant of the enemy and some calling him Moloch Obama seems to be to be quite accurate.  But hey he seems like such a nice guy that you wouldn't mind sitting down and having a beer with, so let us just put aside our differences.

Obama has been deluding people using his technique I call "Hope-a-Dope."   His constant references to hope effectively disarm his opponents when he is hiding his real extreme liberalism and advocacy of the culture of death.  Hillary has launched many blows against him and this has been a losing tactic, thus "Hope-a-Dope" is working to help him win.

Yes, Frodo's words to Aragorn. Actually, I feel sort of the same way about Obama. I'd love to have a speaker like that as a leader. I'd love it if the president of America were as inspiring and articulate as Obama is. But man oh man, do I hate his politics. I am afraid that come November I will be holding my nose and voting for McCain.

I feel the same way about him. He's *too* charismatic. It gives me the shudders.

And to think that for a long time I thought that Hillary was the worst possible one!

I hear that line in my head a lot...it works well to counter-act my naivety.

I just wonder what the heck he's planning to do if he became president. He has no issues, only platitudes. Look at his website and please tell me if you can see anything substantive.

It's funny, not really, but I was just discussing this very thing with a coworker last week. There's just something about him that I cannot really put my finger on, but I'm afraid we will have to pay a heavy price if he should be placed in the white house.

Being from Illinois, I've always been nervous about this candidate for these reasons:

1) He couldn't wait to get into the Senate to begin campaigning for the presidency - at least Hillary could pay lip-service and fulfill one full term;

2) I detest the idea that he has the obligation and destiny to be the first African-American president: why should race be a relentless reminder?

3) The people - especially the young adults - who support him are disturbing and frightening: nihilists, anarchists, anti-religious, uncatechized, relativists, angry;

4) His pro-death/anti-life positions are well-documented;

5) I'm a person of color, he DOES NOT speak for me, regardless of how hard he tries to make it seem.

As a priest, I never really felt the urgent need to learn how to say the Extraordinary Form of the Mass, but I'm getting ready to learn. It has a votive mass - missing in the Ordinary Form - entitled 'Mass for the Defence of the Church' (Missa pro Defensione Ecclesiae but in the pre-1962 formerly titled Missa contra Paganos!).

There is 'something' rising on the horizon, a disturbing presence, a very palpable approaching evil.

I remember how hard I prayed in the seminary in 2000, begging our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament to guard the new millenium from the evil of the previous century, and it seemed that we were heard.

And then Satan reappeared with a horrible vengeance in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington DC.

And the full fury of hatred against the Church (starting with Boston) the following year.

Is this the fallen angel's attempt to now poison our country from within it's very body?

O God, come to our assistance, O Lord, make haste to help us!
Holy Mary, Mother of God, crusher of Satan and the fallen angels - pray for us!
St. Michael the Archangel, commander of the heavenly armies - come to the aid of the Church in battle!

We need to pray, and pray, and pray.

"The devil in sheep's clothing"? Obama is against all Christian teaching.

'

Um... where's the charisma? He's not charismatic at all. He's boring, with patches of smarm.

I don't really think we have any charismatic politicians these days. That's why people confused Bill Clinton's sociableness, smarm, and smile with having charisma. If we ever had a real orator around here any more, people would fall over in shock.

I just keep hearing that Albert Brooks speech from Broadcast News: "What do you think the Devil is going to look like if he's around? Nobody is going to be taken in if he has a long, red, pointy tail. No. I'm semi-serious here. He will look attractive and he will be nice and helpful and he will get a job where he influences a great God-fearing nation and he will never do an evil thing... "

I have to say that Obama's attachment to the word "hope" constantly strikes me as ironic, considering his pro-choice record. I never hear of him talking about anything but change and hope and ideas... not actual, concrete examples. I am afraid he may dupe the nation into voting for him... Not to mention... come on! He has all of 3 years experience in the Senate and half of that has been spent campaigning for the Presidency... What kind of experience is that?

When do you Christian Conservatives realize you are only used as voter cattle by the Republican Party? What does it take to make you see? Why are you so unbelievably blind? Of course, Obama is the Antichrist. Even with Karl Rove gone, you still believe that nonsense.

Vicky - So Conservatives don't like one of the staunchest anti-Conservatives around today, and you're feigning surprise. What 'Christian Conservatives' don't like is how aggressively anti-life, and ergo anti-Christian, Obama has proven to be in his short political career.

Obama has the charisma and the colour, but I wonder how he will fare in actual presidential race. Being a good speaker and sating upper-class White feelings of guilt can only carry you so far.

Speaking of Obama and LotR, does this sound familiar?

Those who listened unwarily to that voice could seldom report the words that they heard; and if they did, they wondered, for little power remained in them. Mostly they remembered only that it was a delight to hear the voice speaking, all that it said seemed wise and reasonable, and desire awoke in them by swift agreement to seem wise themselves. When others spoke they seemed harsh and uncouth by contrast; and if they gainsaid the voice, anger was kindled in the hearts of those under the spell. For some the spell lasted only while the voice spoke to them, and when it spake to another they smiled, as men do who see through a juggler's trick while others gape at it. For many the sound of the voice alone was enough to hold them enthralled; but for those whom it conquered the spell endured when they were far away, and ever they heard that soft voice whispering and urging them. But none were unmoved; none rejected its pleas and its commands without an effort of mind and will, so long as its master had control of it.
The Two Towers: "The Voice of Saruman," p. 183

He is probably not the anti-Christ, but an Al-Quaida plant.

Hard to say whether he has a 666 on his forehead or not. This article is a good one for folks to read that are taking in his "hope" and "change" message. And is it a coincidence the author's last name is "Hope"?

Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. Defends Partial-birth Abortion

Here's another article of interest Fighting Irish Thomas wrote called:

Obama as Jesus: Any Harma in That?

The talk here is scary and revolting. It is why there is nothing more important than separation of church and state.

Obama gives me the creeps ... the first time I saw him speak I immediately thought of those televangelists.

Oh, he's the messiah all right. Because he is Black,he is guilty of that long time Black racist exploitation of religion ,for their real agenda:anti-Western civilization,and anti-White race.There should be a term for this,and mine is Black-sphemy.

And because he's totally Leftist/Marxist/Communist, he will be nothing more than another "God"-That-Failed. So just keep worshipping the "God" that was single-handedly responsible for over 100 million dead, from 1917 to today,everywhere throughout the world it has ruled.Because it's coming to the USA. Joe McCarthy was RIGHT.

It is so funny to see that the only people calling Obama Messiah are McCain supporters and Farrakhan. The more I think about it the more I see the similar thinking of the two groups. They have a lot in common.

I don't really believe that he is the anti-Christ, but he very definitely could be paving the way for him/her to step into office next time. Kind of softening us up for the final blow.

Anyway, if anyone is the Anti-Christ, it's Oprah.
