Walk away after an assault

Comment(s) (13)

Recently in the news has been the story of the 69 year old pro-life man who was assaulted outside of an abortion clinic and knocked unconscious. Pro-lifers are not surprised that this is not getting reported on knowing the media bias. Though I am surprised to find out that the police interviewed the assailant and then let him leave.

Shockingly, minor crimes like this rarely get reported in the media or even prosecuted. Before you start your angry hooting, I knew from personal experience.

Makes you wonder if the police officers have a unwritten code not to prosecute on such occasions.

"Minor crimes," Hoodlum? A man went to the hospital with serious injuries. I'd call that more than simple assault, wouldn't you?

Specifically:

His medical report outlines the extent of his injuries: “multiple trauma, right subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding in the area between the brain and the tissues that cover the brain), compression fractures of four vertebrae (T3, T4, T5 and T10), right scapula fracture and fracture of the fourth and fifth ribs.” Before doctors were able to stop the bleeding in his head, they even feared Mr. Snell would die.

Not exactly your average shoving match in high school cafeteria.

A few years ago a gentleman from our parish went to a prayer vigil at an abortion clinic and was told that he could not park in the lot where he put his car. He immediately went to retrieve it and an employee (big, young guy) of the mill blocked the exit from the lot with his truck, approached him (while he was still in the car and lowered the window to see what he wanted) and took a swing at him. Our friend did his best to dodge the punch but was still grazed by it. When police were called they decided to ignore the incident. Did I mention my friend was 80 at the time? He is a veteran from the Battle of the Bulge so he has seen worse nontheless.

In Vancouver around the year 2000 a woman was charged with numerous criminal charges for blocking entrance to an abortion clinic and for praying there.

At about the same time people protesting a pro-life display were caught on videotape overturning tables and destroying a display. When charges were pressed, the judge threw out the case saying that the plaintiffs had no prior criminal record.

Yes John, the police are part of the "culture of death" conspiracy. Of course, given falling crime rates, it appears, outside of Baltimore, they haven't been told.

Burnt, that's a fairly common occurence. Minor crimes tend to get ignore, particularly if those involved are otherwise free of a criminal record.

Did you see the grief some protesters got outside a Viennese abortion clinic recently?

the answer lies most likely in the fact that at least one of the police officers appears to have been a woman:

"She angrily responded: “Don’t threaten me or I will arrest you!” She then returned to the police car and drove away."

I'd wager a guess she's not exactly leaning the pro-life way.

The story is outrageous, but the ultimate source (Tradition, Family, Property) is dubious. TFP is a dangerous quasi-Catholic race/blood cult that hops on top of news stories in order to remain relevant.

Considering the source, I'm afraid I'll have to reserve my public outrage until the story can be confirmed.

WAC

Having just recently witnessed policemen ignoring threats to pro-lifers (who are, according to one policeman, "the problem" to the extent that he has been waiting for years to put a sidewalk counselor's
"sorry ass in jail") and also witnessed the effective invention of pro-life criminal activity by student PP volunteers, this story does not surprise me.
Not all police (or parking enforcers) are CRAZY--most I have met are neutral regarding pro-life or pro-choice activities, and one here is actually pro-life, but the few NUTS are scary enough to make me re-think my anti-gun views. After all, if these police were ever the only people with guns...I wish there were a way to ensure that only sane people could be police officers. (Or to retest them regularly to discern whether they should be given desk jobs?)

I found this earlier...it's very disturbing!

In my experiances while praying outside an abortion clinic, with a group of people, I can vouch that violence and abuse from pro-"choice"-ers is an everyday ocurance. The police would blast music in front of the group to drown out our rosary. Pro-"choice" people who worked with the clinic would elbow, push, scream at pro-lifers all the time, even in front of the police. I was pretty much awoken to the corruptness of the Amercian leagal system, very fast.
