I am always glad when my skepticism about a story proves right and in this case I hadn't covered the Kathy Saile's USCCB appointment because of a spidey sense about the story.

Though I am rather surprised about myself that I even had any skepticism about a story that purported that the USCCB had supposedly appointed someone who was pro-abortion for the Director of Domestic Social Development.
Though while I am certainly glad she is pro-life, just judging from some of her past statements I don't align myself with her previous statements on domestic policy and liturgy.

I understand your skepticism. When I covered the story I was sure to avoid saying that she was pro-abortion by implication. However, still fair game is her judgment in attending such a meeting. I think this calls for a cliche.

I thought this was more about her being liberal than anything else. People don't get the difference between the Republican party and the Catholic church. One speaks for God and the other doesn't. If you don't know which is which there is a problem.

Randy, that makes no sense. She's a flaming liberal who happens to be pro-life. This, I am sure, causes her to be shunned by both sides, because most flaming libs don't believe you can disagree on any single issue and still be one of them. And, since she's a social and fiscal lib, of course conservatives probably aren't too interested in her, since she believe (as I understand it) that big government is the solution to all social ills.
Thank you, Jeff, for the reminder that truth and charity should remain at the forefront of any story. I, too, hesitated on this one and am thankful that I didn't jump in without further investigation.
Liberalism is, indeed, a red-flag...pro-abortion is something else, entirely.
