New Indult Date

Father Z reports on another Motu Proprio rumor on the date of its release.

Robert Moynihan of Inside the Vatican, currently in Naples, Florida, confirmed last night at a Legatus meeting that his sources say that the Motu Proprio will be issued on the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter, Feb. 22.

Of course we have had ever changing dates with new ones appearing when the previous one is passed. Though this seems to me to be quite biblical.

“But of that day and hour of the Tridentine indult no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Curia, but the Holy Father only."

As in the days of Clown and Polka Masses, so will be the coming of the Motu Proprio. For as in those days before the indult they were eating and drinking using invalid matter for the Eucharist, Irreverent and saying the Mass Irreverently, until the day when Indult entered the bark of Peter, and they did not know until the Indult came and swept away all the silliness, this will be the coming of the Motu Proprio.

Being a Catholic and a geek I created the following Javascript snippet which generates a random date within the next two years.

The optimist says shouldn't that be the next two months and the pessimist the next twenty years?

I actually got 2/22/07 !!!! no kidding hahah

Here's to hoping the bite of Peter is worse than his bark.

Fr. John, I can beat that:
2/14/2007

Motu Proprio as a Valentine's day gift?
The Holy Father loves us thiiiis much.

Of course, for those in the UK such as I, said date is non-existant. Day, Month, Year. Get it right people, don't make us come over there again.

You're a hoot!

I got 2/4/07... I know I am an optimist, but this is probably pushing it. That said, Septuagesima Sunday seems like as good a time as any.

I know it's funny, but it's just not funny....

I'm glad to see my 2007 prediction about a multitude of sightings of this moto proprio is coming true.

The bad news, except for a Nov 2007 date, I keep getting 2008 dates. I hope that's wrong.

It didn't work on my blog, so I'll just stick with 2/22/2007 it's also my 15th wedding anniversary!

I like it. Got it up on my sidebar as well!
Peace,
BMP

I got October next year. DISASTER!

And is now top of my blogpage

Coming back to your page, Jeff, I found that the Indult was supposed to be issued a couple of weeks ago - 1/18/07.

Yes but which calendar do you follow?

There are many more feasts days in the Tridentine than in the present calendar. I fear too many people of weak will (such as myself) will conveniently waffle between communions -- whichever is easiest.

Although I have regular access to an FSSP Tridentine Mass, I pray for the day it will be available worldwide as an antidote to the irreverence of the Vatican II Mass. Still, my prediction is that the papacy of B16 will pass before there is such an indult. JPII was forever just on the verge of issuing it. I predict B16 will be the same. I think both men, for all of there good qualities, are more concerned with the attitudes and desires of the bishops than the needs of the laity.

Great post WF

So sad that the Vicar of christ lacks the guts to do what is moral and correct seeing the church crumble around them. One would think that they as the humble servent of God, responsible for the souls of 1B Catholics would worry about his own salvation, but I guess he is more concerned about appeasing the Moslems, praying to Allah in a Mosque over a statement he made which was totally correct and continuing in the blaspheme of Ecumenism brought on by the Masons and Vatican II than doing what is correct and Catholic

Thank God our Lord, the Apostles and the Saints had the guts to do what was correct and lay their lives down for their flock than these spineless men

Yes the Greek Captcha is a joke
