Imagine there's no Religion
Something I would ban
Those hateful lemmings
homophobia plan
Imagine fall the steeple
Tolerance today

Ban organized religion
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
Ignore Stalin's debut
Imagine all the people
Living selfishly

You may say that I'm a schemer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday we'll ban you
And the world will be as one

Imagine no restrictions
I wonder if you can
No need Commandments
Utopia for a gay man
Imagine all the believers
Closeted religion world

You may say that I'm a schemer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday we'll ban you
And the world will be as one

Actually the world would be "as two" because you'd still have both men and women, just each side keeping to themselves for the most part.

Despite his poorly internalized atheism, Stalin's Christian origins. See Marxists believed that social evil comes from social injustice. However, Stalin believed that people were inherently evil sinners who needed punishment and he maintained the Georgian Christian belief (or attitude there of) that a ruler's duty was to prepare his subjects for the next life. (1)

See, not all Marxists and Communists renounced their religious beliefs, hence why Liberation Theology arose. Also, not all Communists were able to totally shake off their religious backgrounds or beliefs. Djilas noted that Tito referred to himself as, get this one, a Catholic, while Djilas himself maintained a "religious" aspect on life.

And some scholars maintain the difference between Vietnamese and the Khmer Rouge programs was the fact the Vietnamese were more influenced by Confucius thus believing people could be reformed, while Pol Pot's followers were former Buddhists who believed (or maintain the attitude) that suffering received was suffering deserved, so see you in the next life.

It would be precious if Neil Young could sing this one too on TV!

Ah, Jeff, you saw the same article I did yesterday. I wonder why anyone cares what an aging diva thinks of religion, especially someone who so often angered and hurt people by having hissyfits. Perhaps we can envision a world in which musicians quietly earn their money and retire to obscurity. ;)

Revelation 13 indicates that, one of these days, the world will be as one. It just isn't gonna be pretty.

I wonder if Elton has a good recipe for venison I can use...

I wonder if Elton can help me fix the small leak in my roof...

I wonder if Elton has good advice for how I can lose a few pounds and be healther...

I wonder if Elton can help me train this rescue dog I got from the shelter last week...

I wonder if Elton could explain the benifits of a graduated tax system over a flat tax system...

I wonder if Elton...

Hey wait a minute, he is just a singer who wears frocks and big wigs! When he isn't signing, I don't really care.

Hmm, I wonder what Madonna thinks about donatism...

Elton John, what's that flower you have on?
Could it be a FADED rose from days gone by?
And did I hear you say he was a-meetin' you here today
To take you to his mansion in the sky?

... NOT!
.

Dear Elton,

Nihilism is a most disastrous belief.

You will dread the results of a society that gives up on morality.

Faithful Christians are the wall between men like yourself and all the violent extremists who would love to do violence to you.

This is perfect on many levels. Can I print this?

Yes, Hoodlum, all Western thought has Christian influences, something that we've maintained and that you have refused to admit.

Can one separate his music from his beliefs?

Jeff,
This is great. John Lennon is most definitely a fascist. So much for tolerance!

I believe you can, Raymond. I happen to like many of Elton John's songs, but I would never pay to see him in concert again. He had a hissyfit in Detroit several years back, left the stage, etc. Then again, Tina Turner said that she didn't tour with him because he became enraged when she asked if he could drop a song into her singing range. I mean... playing a diva to Tina Turner?!?!?

John Lennon was a fascist? Please explain.

Hoodlum, I knew you'd get around to blaming Christianity for Stalin's atrocities...

lol, he may find those lyrics and take them.

Yes the Greek Captcha is a joke

The Curt Jester

A former atheist who after spending forty years in the wilderness finds himself with both astonishment and joy a member of the Catholic Church. This blog presents my hopefully humorous and sometimes serious take on things religious, political, and whatever else crosses my mind.
