As Mark Shea says unleash the power of the blog. Read his post and please email those in the diocese that might be able to stop this sacrilege.

Jeff,

It is a "Bad Link". No Such site exists.

Neither does the Link come up nor does Mark Shea's Blogspot exist.

I am constantly getting a "500 Internal Server Error".

Mark's site definitely exists, but it looks like it' out of commission as of this afternoon. Probably technical problems. (He had reported that a few days ago too)

Many blogs are down right now for some reason.

blogger is having a rough week. This was a scheduled outing though.

O.K. It works now quite well.

Mark Shea's Site is up and running.

This is very sad to see ... Judgement is coming

Note how it is listed on the Church's calendar of events ... "private"

Why not state who is coming to their basement to party?

sad They need prayers ... the Church needs prayers ... our priest needs prayers and Bishops who have love for Christ.

The parish website says they had James Alison (should be Fr. James Alison, but oh well) come to speak last week. Fr. Alison is someone working very hard in theology to "help" the Church see its way clear to changing its teaching on homosexual behavior.

Have these people lost their collective minds?
Never mind, self evident answer.

"The pastor is the chancellor of the archdiocese ..."

Tell me again: who was, until just recently, the Archbishop of that archdiocese? And what's his job now?

Comforting, isn't it?

This needs our prayers, and alot of them. This is one of the more revolting things I have heard of. For this to be done in the very house of Our Lord. I mean for goodness sake, he is feet away from this nonsense! It is extremely hurtful to Jesus.

THIS is why we offer reparations to the Blessed Sacrament.

All I can say is I HOPE THIS IS ALL SOME MISUNDERSTANDING.

This is wrong, revolting, sad, pathetic, frightening, appalling, abominable, and, and, and,......VENIAL ...
See the Eternal Fire triangle - all three elements are there.
What a sorry mess.
There are wolves in sheeps' clothing running that parish and diocese.
Pray hard everyone.

Sisters of perpetual indulgence... yes they encourage perpetually indulging ourselves

No great surprise - Most Holy Redeemer, in the Castro District, is SFO's (unofficial) "gay Catholic parish." I recall its advertising itself as such in a TV documentary on the Castro almost ten years ago. I thought perhaps when Archbishop Levada was moved to the Vatican, Pope Benedict would appoint someone who would give . . . let's say . . . clearer direction to the Catholics in the Bay Area. Instead, the new archbishop was apparently chosen because he was considered gay-friendly in his previous post in Utah. I think it's evident that somebody in Rome thinks the American Catholic Church needs this kind of thing.

It's repulsive, but as ron points out hardly surprising for the parish. I suspect that it would take the ecclesiastical equivalent of dropping a tactical nuke on the parish to get this kind of shenanigans to stop. Or take place under the umbrella of some other communion, which is far more likely.

Re: Just the guy,

While I understand your dismay and anger at these abuses and eccesiastical crimes, I don't support your position of non-support. Whatever our sins, it's still the Church Christ founded, it is still perfect in the eyes of God, and we are still commanded to support Her efforts. That is the fifth precept of the faithful as listed in CCC 2043.

I understand your betrayal and suffering, but this is something no one, for any reason, gets a pass on. We are all called to take up the Cross, and that means that we must accept the splinters of betrayal and scandal as well. If we shirk our efforts, we may feel satisfied, but nothing will improve. As Peter Kreeft put it, His Kingdom will not come, His will shall not be done, and our world will die, along with the souls of many confused and hoodwinked brothers and sisters.

Refusal to support the Church will not save us. Only our prayers and efforts combined will bear fruits.

Yes the Greek Captcha is a joke

The Curt Jester

A former atheist who after spending forty years in the wilderness finds himself with both astonishment and joy a member of the Catholic Church. This blog presents my hopefully humorous and sometimes serious take on things religious, political, and whatever else crosses my mind.

My conversion story

Email Me:

Blessed Miguel Pro, S.J.

Known as "God's Jester" was a martyr for the faith and a man of wisdom, fun, tricks, poetry, song, and dance. Thus seemed an appropriate Patron Saint of this blog.
