Hooray for Alveda King! Such a simple solution; how can we ignore it?

I've never understood why they call themselves Priests for Life. You'd think that ALL priests would be pro-life.

Miss King is quite right. The problem shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody, however: Margaret Sanger aggressively pushed birth control and abortion on black people. She told them it was to help them have more prosperous and orderly lives. She told her cronies it was to control the numbers of these "human weeds". That's a quote.

Aaron-- yes, in theory all priests ARE pro-life, and thankfully I've never actually met one who isn't, although sadly they do exist. But I think it's fabulous that some priests have decided to make it their special ministry to focus exclusively on the life issues. It simply isn't possible for every priest in every parish to focus that much of their time on life issues when they also have other legitimate demands on their time, like providing the sacraments, administering a parish, frequently overseeing a school, etc. Yes, I'd like to see all the parish priests talk more about life, but I think it's a very good thing that we have a few that have chosen to "specialize," so to speak. The Priests for Life are AWESOME.

My sentiments EXACTLY-I questioned myself for years why there had to be an organization, and Fr Pavone will be a saint for what he has done as well as his involvement in the Schiavo case, when every January, how many Bishops and Priests, as well as Nuns are at the March?

I have read many articles on this and it is documented that with the homosexuality rate somewhere around 50% and estimates have it anywhere from 30% to a high of 80%, that homosexual priests cant relate , or should I say feel that strongly about the sacrament of marriage and the ultimate purpose, to create life, hence the reason they rarely speak about it but are much more prone to speak out against capital punishment than abortion.

As far as making it ones special ministry, would one not think that legalized murder in this or any country of millions of unborn should be somewhere in their top 5 agendas of things of importance to stopt this plague that has came down upon this nation and Europe-or are they just not outraged. For that matter, what exactly does make our clergy outraged anymore, it seems that any slap in the face of the Catholic church or belief gets a free pass from the Vatican on down (ie Passion of the Christ controversy where it was the Evangelicals who fought and protected Mel Gibson and the movie from the onslaught of the media and rabbi's).

I've heard Alveda King's story, and it is a moving one. Her words are clear, brief and truthful.

Mr. Miller is spot on when he points out that the abortion industry regards an inutero baby as a "symptom." However, I thought Professor Janet Smith clarifies the sentiments even more when she said our culture regards babies as "environmental hazards."

When I've debated the issue, the other side seems to distill their argument chiefly to: "...but what about all of our resources?! We won't have enough resources!!"

This is not truthful, nor is it new. The "too many babies" argument has been with us since, well, we've had babies.

Aaron, every religious order has a specific charism, such as adoration of the Eucharist, Marian devotion, teaching, etc. It doesn't mean that they neglect other aspects of the Church's teaching, just that they see a need to promote that particular aspect.

John, your are absolutely right abourt the unconcern for fetal life among homosexual oriented priests hence the inaction. Some people have said after their abortion they turned homosexual, perhaps some of these priests are hiding a past abortion also and they are in denial over their involvement.
