Here is another new site in preparation for the conclave. Pope-U-Lator
Roman Catholics believe that when the 115 guys in red socks go into the secretive Conclave, they will be guided by God Himself in their election of the new Pope. Since there are 1.1 billion Catholics on the planet, there are two questions that will fascinate the world in the next few days. Who will be elected as the new Pope? and What name will the new Pope select for himself?
Fill out the short questionnaire on the Pope-U-Lator and five Papabiles are shown based on your criteria. I got Cardinal Arinze ad #1 in response to mine.
There is also the Name-U-Lator to let you choose a papal name. If you choose progressive agenda you get:

If you want priestesses, gay marriage, contraception, abortion, euthanasia, a 4th person in the Divine Trinity or whatever floats your boat, just join a Protestant Church.
If you want to stick with plain old Christianity, you are going to have to face the fact that the Pope is the guardian of the Deposit of Faith. He can't just make up a new dogma when he feels like it. He can't ordain ladies, nor can he reverse the constant Church teaching against contraception and abortion. It's just not going to happen.
The one for a conservative papal name is also funny. All of this is in good fun and the site has the following disclaimer.

EWTN is asking everyone to get the word out and boycott Ebay.
Ebay is selling consecrated hosts and making a huge profit from it, it is outrageous and offensive:

They will not take this auction down and in fact say they will allow this in the future. Please ask everyone concerned about the Blessed Sacrament being desicrated to email :billcobb@ebay.com
and express your outrage. Also please boycott Ebay till they promise to stop selling the Eucharist and making money on Our Blessed Lord.

I was talking to Son #4 about this. The reason they don't just leave is that the Church is real. We count. That's why a Protestant denomination has to undergo a major schism to get any ink in the mainstream press, while every little flutter in the Catholic dovecote is News. Remember in A Man For All Seasons, when More asks why the king wants his approval, when he has everyone else's? Henry replies, "Because you're honest. What's more, you're known to be honest."

I tried both what *I* consider important, and what I think the College will really follow-- which put Ratzinger ahead of Arinze. (Look for him to be labled "divisive".)
A post on the Independent Catholic list related how Bishop Patricia Ford (of the outfit calling itself the Servant Catholic Church) was addressing a group of Marynoll sisters who were moaning about how they are OPPRESSED because they can't be ordained. Finally, she could not stand any more, and said "You want to be ordained? Step up, and I'll ordain you right now." Did they come forward? Did they blazes. What they want is the assets and good will of the brand name Roman Catholicism Inc., while using them to market a completely different product.
